Regina Sonnenschmidt, the President of Translations by Regina is a native German, born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany and has extensive knowledge of the English language and culture. Translations by Regina can provide you with any kind of German/English and English/German translations or interpretation services or both. Each project is treated as a priority and is completed in a timely manner and with extreme accuracy.

Regina Sonnenschmidt received a BA from a prestigues German university by the name of Institut für Fremdsprechen und Auslandskunde bei der Universität Erlangen/Nürnberg. I am a Certified Translator for English and German. After moving to the US, I attended DMACC (Des Moines Area Community College) and received an AA in Business Administration. In 2001, I joined the ICIU (Iowa Council for International Understanding) as a freelance translator and have completed several translation projects for clients, such as INS documentations, which include, but are not limited to: birth certificates, marriage licenses, and divorce papers, as well as the translations of books, mainly of spiritual nature, technical and mechanical manuals, medical documents, marketing flyers, etc. I also have experience in proof reading and editing documents in the target language without changing the original text.

Further, I am a member of the ATA (American Translation Association) and the IITA (Iowa Interpreters and Translators Association). I am also the only German speaker so far that is registered as a Court Interpreter for the State of Iowa. I am also a platinum member of proz.com. Recently I completed BIT (Basic Interpreter Training) provided by Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, IA.
